WISHING ON WILDFLOWERS
Kirk puffed his cheeks, gazing wistfully into the sunset. With one
breath, he scattered the dandelion seeds on the wind.
"What are you doing?"
"Making a wish," said Kirk.
Spock's eyebrow lifted. "For what?"
"Supposedly, if I tell anyone, it won't come true," explained Kirk.
"But--there's--no harm in you guessing."
"Vulcans do not 'guess'. We hypothesize."
"And what is your hypothesis, Mr. Spock?" Kirk looked at him
meaningfully.
"My theory is that in the future, rather than wishing on wildflowers,"
said Spock, sweeping the now smiling captain into his arms, "you
should be more direct about your overtures."
